Execute UPDATE, INSERT, and DELETE operations directly in chat. Before execution, a dry-run preview shows affected rows with color highlighting. Drift detection warns you if data changed between preview and execution.

Security Policies (Row/Column-Level)

Define granular access rules per project. Column masking replaces sensitive columns with '***', row filters restrict visible rows. Policies are automatically applied to all queries — Owners are exempt. Defense-in-depth through post-execution masking.

Cost Guards for BigQuery & Snowflake

Enterprise workspaces can enable warehouse connectors such as BigQuery and Snowflake with cost and timeout guards. They stay gated until the customer setup is ready.

Semantic Document Search (RAG)

How secure is my data?+
Database connections are encrypted with AES-256-GCM. For SQL databases, no data is copied — only metadata (table names, columns) is stored. Your data stays in your database.
What languages are supported?+
The interface is available in German, English, French, and Italian. You can ask questions in any of these languages — the AI responds in the same language.
How do credits work?+
Each query uses credits. Simple questions cost 1 credit, complex analyses 2–3 credits. The free plan includes 100 credits per month. Credits can be purchased anytime.
Can I connect my own database?+
Yes. You can connect PostgreSQL, MySQL and MSSQL directly. Professional and Enterprise can also use Google Sheets and Excel Online, and Enterprise workspaces can enable additional warehouse connectors on request.
What is semantic indexing?+
Before the first question, datemydata prepares schema context, previews, relationships and business terms. The chat then uses this prepared context and deterministic validation instead of guessing from table names alone.
Can I share results?+
Yes. You can export answers, save queries, pin results to dashboards, publish dashboards, or share direct links to public answers and reports.
What export formats are available?+
CSV, Excel (.xlsx), PDF, and JSON. You can also copy results to the clipboard. The PDF export includes the question, answer, and data table with datemydata branding.
Can data sources update automatically?+
URL and REST sources can run as scheduled snapshots. Professional and Enterprise can also use remote live queries where the connector supports it. Saved queries, alerts, digests and scheduled deliveries keep stakeholders up to date automatically.
How does the AI understand my data?+
The product combines prepared schema context, deterministic execution and model-based explanation. Multiple models are available per question, but result validation, exports and automation are handled by the product layer, not left to the model alone.
What happens with multiple data sources?+
Projects with multiple sources get a shared explorer, relationship analysis and cross-source suggestions. You can inspect tables, previews, lineage and joins before or during the chat.
Can I adjust schema mappings?+
Yes. In the Schema Chat, describe your desired changes in natural language — e.g., 'Connect orders to customers via customer_id'. The AI analyzes feasibility, shows you the impact, and only applies changes after your confirmation. Manual adjustments survive re-indexing.
Can I copy a project?+
Yes. In the project settings you can duplicate a project with one click. All data sources and their schemas are carried over — so you can quickly create variants or test configurations.
Can I create dashboards from chat results?+
Yes! Any chart generated in chat can be pinned to a project dashboard. You can reorder widgets, adjust their size, and even publish the dashboard as a public link with optional password protection.
How do alerts work?+
You can define threshold-based alerts on saved queries. The system automatically checks at scheduled intervals and sends in-app notifications and emails when conditions are met.
How does write-back work?+
In chat, you can ask the AI to modify data (UPDATE, INSERT, DELETE). Before execution, you see a preview of affected rows with exact counts. Changes are only executed after your confirmation. Drift detection warns you if data changed in the meantime.
What are security policies?+
Security policies let you restrict data access by user role. Column masking hides sensitive columns, row filters limit visible rows. Policies are applied to all queries — including scheduled queries and alerts. Project Owners are exempt.
How can I embed charts?+
On the Enterprise plan, you can generate an embed token for any dashboard widget. The widget is then displayed as an iframe on external websites. You can configure allowed origins and set an expiration date. A ready-made JavaScript snippet simplifies integration.
What is semantic document search?+
Uploaded documents (PDF, DOCX, TXT) are indexed with vector embeddings. This allows the AI to find semantically similar passages — not just keyword matches. The Free/Standard plan uses keyword-based search.
